How Oilily Transformed Its Sales Insights

Oilily, a renowned fashion brand known for its vibrant designs, needed to streamline their sales and inventory data from multiple sources to create a unified view. With their data spread across both e-commerce platforms and ERP systems (initially Styleman and later ItsPerfect), they required a comprehensive solution that could integrate these streams, clean and transform the data, and deliver actionable insights. The Data Cooks were brought in to build a robust ETL solution and provide data visualizations for key performance metrics such as sales, returns, sell-through rates, and year-over-year growth.

The challenge

Oilily’s sales and inventory data was dispersed across different platforms, with Styleman as their previous ERP system and ItsPerfect as the new one. This transition added complexity to the integration, as the data from the two systems needed to be consolidated without disrupting ongoing operations. Moreover, they needed clear insights into crucial business metrics—sales, returns, and sell-through rates—while comparing growth against last year’s performance. Without a unified data source, making informed, timely decisions was difficult.

  2. Data Cleaning and Transformation: Throughout the project, we applied advanced data cleaning and transformation techniques, ensuring that all data was standardized and formatted correctly. This was essential for maintaining accuracy across different platforms and for preparing the data for visualization.
  3. Power BI Dashboards: We designed interactive Power BI dashboards that provided real-time insights into sales performance, returns, sell-through rates, and growth compared to the previous year. The visualizations allowed Oilily’s management to monitor these KPIs in an easy-to-understand format, empowering them to make data-driven decisions about inventory management, marketing, and growth strategies.
